**Why it matters:** The meeting is part of a series held across Suffolk this autumn, giving the public a direct line to senior police figures to raise concerns and ask questions about policing in the county.

**The details:** The South Area meeting takes place at Police Headquarters, Portal Avenue, Martlesham, IP5 3QS, starting at 18:30, with doors opening at 18:00\. No booking is required.

An online meeting will also be held on Wednesday, 4 November, at 18:00 via Microsoft Teams. Those wishing to attend should email [spcc@suffolk.police.uk](mailto:spcc@suffolk.police.uk) to register, with an invite sent in advance.

**The big picture:** Meetings have already been held across the county through September, with the South Area event in October and the online meeting in November rounding off the series.

**What they're saying:** County Policing Commander, Chief Superintendent Janine Wratten, said: "The public meetings are a great opportunity to listen to the community we serve and understand their current issues they wish to raise with us.

"Having an ongoing dialogue with the people of Suffolk is vital to ensure we remain a relevant and responsive police force."

She added that area commanders from relevant community policing teams would attend "to give more local context if needed as well."

Suffolk's Police and Crime Commissioner, Tim Passmore, said: "If you have a burning question about policing in the county, this is the opportunity to ask it.

"Policing is such an important public service, and it is imperative that the public have an opportunity to have their say. I do hope people will accept this invitation to come and find out more about policing in Suffolk."

He added: "There will be ample opportunity to ask questions and make comments, if people wish to do so, and I will be pleased to discuss any matter that arises. I will be joined by officers from the relevant community policing team to give a local insight."

**The bottom line:** Residents have a direct opportunity this month to question senior police officers and the Police and Crime Commissioner on local policing matters, either in person in Martlesham or online in November.
