Suffolk brewer Adnams scoops five awards for Ghost Ship beers
Adnams has celebrated a string of accolades for its Ghost Ship beers, securing two category trophies in regional brewing awards and three honours at the World Beer Awards 2025, with the award-winning beers available locally at The Greyhound and The Butt & Oyster.
Why it matters: The recognition comes as the Southwold-based brewery prepares to mark 15 years since introducing the Ghost Ship brand, with the awards spanning both regional and global competitions.
The details: The brewery scooped two category trophies in the SIBA East Independent Beer Awards this week.
- Ghost Ship in cask was named category winner for 'Cask Pale Ale', while Ghost Ship Alcohol Free secured the category win in 'Keg Non-Alcoholic and Low ABV' in the eastern regional competition.
- Adnams was also declared among the best in three categories at the World Beer Awards.
- Ghost Ship Alcohol Free took silver in the No and Low Alcohol Pale category, while the 4.5% Ghost Ship Pale Ale took bronze in the American Style Pale Ale category, and Double Ghost IPA won bronze in the American Style IPA category.
What they're saying: Dan Gooderham, Head Brewer of Adnams, said: "Both on a regional level, and on the world stage, these accolades are a real testament to the work which goes into producing outstanding ales which consumers really enjoy."
"As a team, we're enormously proud to have another set of great awards from two very different judging events, and it makes it even more special that we are now about to mark 15 years since introducing the Ghost Ship brand to our business."

For context: The SIBA Independent Beer Awards are judged by fellow brewers and industry experts, making them the "Brewers' Choice" awards in the UK. Winners from each region move forward to the national competition.
The bottom line: Beer lovers can sample the award-winning Ghost Ship range at The Greyhound on Henley Road and The Butt & Oyster on Pinmill Road, where Adnams' 15-year brewing success story continues to impress judges on both regional and international stages.
