Why it matters: Sisters 360, written by acclaimed Bradford playwright Asif Khan, tells the story of two hijabi step-sisters determined to win a skateboarding competition. The show arrives alongside hands-on skating sessions open to all ages and abilities, giving Ipswich audiences the chance to get on a board themselves.

The details: The performance takes place on Tuesday, 7 April 2026 at 15:00. The play is inspired by the real-life story of skateboarding sisters Layna, Maysa and Amaya, and their hero, teenage Olympic medal winner Sky Brown.

New Wolsey Theatre has partnered with Two-Toed Skateboarding to offer two free drop-in skating sessions at 12:00 and 13:30 on the day of the show. The not-for-profit organisation serves the skateboarding community of Suffolk and wider East Anglia and will have open sessions for anyone with tickets. Sessions will include coaching in riding, turning and basic tricks and a post-show skating demonstration.

What they're saying: Lewis Anderson, head coach and director of Two-Toed Skateboarding, said: "We're really excited to partner with New Wolsey Theatre on this show and offer the opportunity for everyone to give skating a go. The town needs more skateboarding opportunities and collaborative working like this to get young people into skating and especially to inspire female skaters."

The bottom line: Whether you are a seasoned skater or have never stepped on a board, Sisters 360 offers an afternoon of theatre, inspiration and real-world skating for all ages.
