# Robe-a-thon walk to raise funds for Cancer Support Suffolk

- Entry costs £10, with participants also encouraged to seek individual sponsorship.
- The 5km route passes Cancer Support Suffolk's base in St Margaret's Street before finishing at Riverhills Health Club in Bramford.
- All money raised will go directly towards supporting people living with a cancer diagnosis in Suffolk.
- Finishers will receive a medal and a hot drink, with lunches available to buy for those wanting to stay longer.

**What they're saying:** Dave Courteen, managing director at Riverhills, said: "I'm extremely proud to be an Ambassador for Cancer Support Suffolk. We asked the team at Riverhills to come up with unique suggestions of ways we can fundraise for the important work done by this local cancer charity. 

The Riverhills Robe-a-thon is a great way for local people to get involved in a fun way! This is just the first in a series of fundraising challenges and events we have planned."

Cancer Support Suffolk chief executive Mark Murphy MBE said: "We are excited to partner with the Riverhills team to make this event a reality. The Robe-a-thon is going to be a really fun event to take part in. The money raised on the day will enable us to continue the range of FREE services we offer."

**The bigger picture:** Cancer Support Suffolk runs a wellbeing hub at 56-58 St Margaret's Street in Ipswich, open Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 15:00, alongside support groups in the east and west of the county.

The charity also funds therapy and counselling sessions at the hub and at Ipswich and West Suffolk hospitals, delivered by a team of complementary therapists, counsellors, educators and ambassadors.

**The bottom line:** Suffolk's first Robe-a-thon gives residents a fun way to back a charity that provides free, vital support to people affected by cancer across the county.
