Paddy & Scott's rebrands as 'Jessie & Ketty's' for International Women's Month

Suffolk coffee company Paddy & Scott's is temporarily rebranding for the whole of March to celebrate two women driving change for girls in Kenya.

Why it matters: The Eye-based company, known for its focus on empowering people, the planet and coffee farming communities, is renaming itself "Jessie & Ketty's" for the month to shine a spotlight on two women at the heart of its mission.

The details: The rebrand highlights Jessie, Head of Purpose at Paddy & Scott's, who has spent seven years with the company, and Ketty Gitonga, Health Programme Officer for Mount Kenya Trust. Together, they work to educate and empower young people in Kenya to break down the stigma surrounding menstrual health.

In Meru, Kenya, where 24% of girls aged 15 to 19 have experienced pregnancy, many girls lack access to safe sanitary products, leaving them vulnerable and, in some cases, pressured into transactional relationships to obtain basic supplies. Almost all girls who become pregnant leave school and most never return.

What they're saying: Ketty Gitonga said: "This powerful partnership exemplifies how collaboration can drive meaningful change. This project has significantly transformed our community by delivering crucial resources. Through enhanced education, improved access to healthcare, and active community involvement, we are addressing the pressing issues surrounding teenage pregnancy and paving the way for a brighter future."

How to help: As part of the campaign, Paddy & Scott's has rebranded its Mount Kenya blend as a limited-edition coffee for March. For every bag sold, the company will fund one additional dignity pack for girls in need.

The campaign, titled 'Empower women. Change lives. March forward.', will also feature USA Rugby captain Kate Zachary and Italian prop Sara Seye, who will share their own experiences of challenges and inspiration in their careers.

The bottom line: For the price of a bag of coffee, you can help keep a girl in school in Kenya – and Paddy & Scott's, sorry, Jessie & Ketty's, is making it as easy as possible to do just that.
