# Man seriously injured in Ipswich Waterfront assault

**What happened:** An altercation between two men that began inside A-Listers at Aurora Bar on Helena Road spilt outside shortly before 12.15am on Sunday, 18th August.

**Key details:**

- The victim, a man in his 30s, was reportedly pinned against a parked grey BMW and struck with a glass bottle.
- He sustained serious head and facial injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
- His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
- A third man who attempted to intervene suffered hand injuries.
- The suspect is believed to have fled on foot towards the university.
