# Man safely rescued after Carr Street rooftop incident

**The details:** The man is believed to have accessed the roof of the building after entering via the Magazin Românesc Maestro butchers on Carr Street at 02:20 on Tuesday, 18 August, triggering a huge emergency services response.

- Suffolk Constabulary, Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service, and the ambulance service attended, with a fire and rescue crew gaining access to the roof from the high street.
- A witness told this publication that a man was understood to have entered the unit in the early hours of the morning before gaining access to the roof.
- Carr Street was closed to the public while the incident was ongoing.
