# Man dies after car hits parked lorry on A14 at Stowmarket

**The details:** The collision closed the westbound carriageway for 13 hours, with the road not reopening until 05:25 on Monday, 17 November.

- Police were called at just after 16:20 on Sunday, 16 November, to reports of a two-vehicle collision on the westbound carriageway near Stowmarket.
- A black Jaguar XJ Sport collided with a MAN truck which was parked in a layby.
- Fire and ambulance crews attended, but the driver of the Jaguar sadly died at the scene.
- A female passenger in the Jaguar was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital having suffered a potentially life-changing leg injury.

**What's next:** Officers from the Joint Norfolk & Suffolk Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for any potential witnesses to come forward.
