Man arrested after stabbing on Ipswich's Station Street

A 55-year-old man has been arrested following a serious assault that left a man in his 40s hospitalised with stab wounds this morning.

Police believe the parties involved are known to each other and are not seeking anybody else in connection with the assault, indicating no ongoing threat to the public.

The details: Emergency services were called at 08:45 today to reports of an incident at a property on Station Street. The victim sustained stab injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance, where he remains in a stable but serious condition.

The suspect was arrested at the scene and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

What else happened: Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service also responded to a fire at the same location this morning, which was quickly extinguished.
