# Let's Talk Women's Health to host expert-led menopause event

**The details:** Menopause – Real Lives, Clinical Care runs from 18:00 to 21:00 at John Grose Geely Ipswich, 3 Crane Boulevard, IP3 9SQ, where free parking is available and a light buffet and refreshments will be provided. 

Tickets cost £4.85 to £6.50, with 25% off group tickets, and refunds are available up to seven days before the event. The event is open to all, but under-18s must attend with a parent or legal guardian.

Topics will include:

- Hormones and hormone replacement therapy (HRT)
- Neurodiversity
- POI (early menopause)
- Perimenopause
- Alternative therapies

**Who is speaking:**

- Dr Julie Kite, a Suffolk-based, British Menopause Society-registered menopause specialist, who left general practice in 2023 to focus on menopause care after navigating the perimenopause herself.
- Mel Dickinson, founder of the Menopause Vitamin Company, who will share her research into nutritional support for menopause.
- Jen Evans, a menopause advisor whose own experience of forgetting basic things at work led her to challenge a system that was not taking her symptoms seriously.

**What they're saying:** "Menopause can be isolating. Not because it's rare – but because so few people talk about it honestly," the organisers say.

They add that attendees will leave with:

- "A clearer understanding of what's actually happening in your body – and the language to talk about it"
- "The confidence to ask better questions of your GP or healthcare provider"
- "A room full of people who get it – because you shouldn't have to figure this out on your own"

Organisers say: "Whether you're navigating your own journey, equipping yourself with knowledge for your future or supporting someone you care about, you'll leave feeling informed, empowered and connected." 

**For context:** Let's Talk Women's Health is a community interest company based in Suffolk, run by Katie Winearls, Jen Evans, Amy Peckham-Driver and Dr Julie Kite. Organisers describe its first event, held in Ipswich in March 2025, as Suffolk's first ever women's health event. 

This menopause evening follows a sold-out festival at The Hold in March and is the first in a new series of smaller community events "exploring different areas of women's health in more depth".

In March, Katie Winearls said feedback from that first event drove the decision to continue: "We had some feedback from people saying that they'd finally booked that GP appointment that they've been putting off for however many years."

The venue is being provided by John Grose Geely, and the event is sponsored by Nuffield Health Ipswich Hospital.

**The bottom line:** Whether navigating menopause, wondering if it has started, or supporting someone going through it, attendees can put their questions to a menopause specialist and hear from others with lived experience – but tickets are limited.
