Ipswich street drinking clampdown begins this week
Up to six officers will patrol known street drinking hotspots, including Tavern Street and the Waterfront, as part of Operation Proxy to tackle anti-social behaviour this week.

- Tacket Street
- Arras Square
- Barrack Corner
- The Waterfront
What to do: Members of the public who witness street drinking, "aggressive begging" or other disorderly behaviour are asked to call 101, or 999 if offences are being committed.
Police are also inviting residents to report additional specific streets or locations where this anti-social behaviour regularly occurs.
The bottom line: The initiative, called Operation Proxy, aims to take enforcement action against those causing problems in Ipswich town centre.
