# Ipswich police warn sellers after attempted car sabotage scam

**The details:** Two males arrived to view a vehicle that had been advertised for sale between 12:30 and 13:15\. One distracted the seller while the other put oil into the engine.

- This caused the engine to smoke when the vehicle was taken for a test drive.
- The suspects were persistent in their attempts to reduce the price of the vehicle.
- No sale was made.
