Ipswich Minster celebrates first Christmas Tree Festival
Ipswich Minster marked a milestone on Friday night as it launched its first Christmas Tree Festival since being granted Minster status this year, with around 100 decorated trees now on display until 7 December.

The details: Now in its 14th year, the festival showcases approximately 100 differently decorated trees sponsored by community groups, charities and businesses across the town. Visitors can also enjoy craft activities for children and a café serving hot drinks and cake staffed by volunteers.
Ipswich Central, the Business Improvement District for the town centre and waterfront, is supporting this year's festival.

For context: Ipswich Minster was formerly known as St Mary Le Tower until it was granted Minster status in January 2025. The building is around 1,000 years old and serves as the civic church for Ipswich town centre.
The church's typical opening hours are 10:00-17:30, except Tuesday (10:00-12:15 and 14:30-17:30), Wednesday (11:30-17:30) and Sunday (12:00-16:00).
