Ipswich man jailed for 15 weeks after assaulting woman

The details: The incident took place in the vicinity of Wherstead Road and Croft Street on Saturday, 13 September. Police were called shortly after 14:15 to reports that a woman had been pushed to the ground by a man known to her, who had then stolen her rucksack containing keys, a purse and other personal items.
Officers attended and spoke with the victim, who was not injured. Hyam was traced on CCTV crossing Stoke Bridge and running towards the town centre.
What happened next: Officers pursued Hyam, who refused to stop despite several commands from police. He was eventually apprehended by police dog Thor and his handler, and detained.
Hyam denied a charge of robbery but pleaded guilty to assault by beating.
