# Ipswich man charged with attempted murder after stabbing

**The incident:** Emergency services were called at 08:45 on Thursday, 26 May, to reports of an incident at a property on Station Street, where a man had sustained stab injuries. The victim remains in hospital in a stable but serious condition.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service also responded to a fire at the same location, which was quickly extinguished.

**The charges:** Huggins, who is known to the victim, was arrested at the scene and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning. He has subsequently been charged with:

- Attempted murder
- Arson with intent to endanger life
- Threatening a person with an offensive weapon

**What's next:** Huggins has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates' Court today, Friday, 27 June.
