How to win the first signed copy of MONOPOLY: Ipswich
A competition launching today gives Ipswich residents the chance to become a 'VIP for a Day' and receive the first signed MONOPOLY: Ipswich Edition game by writing a creative entry about why they love the town.
Why it matters: The winner will receive the very first MONOPOLY: Ipswich Edition game to roll off the presses, specially signed by Mr. Monopoly, plus other signed game goodies.
The details: To enter, residents must write an entry responding to 'Why I Love Ipswich' in 90 words or less. Visual formats are also accepted, with poems, ditties, and even one-liners judged equally alongside longer entries.
"The most inventive and creative entry will win," says Ben Ladd Gibbon, Custom Games Partnership Manager at Winning Moves UK, the makers of the new MONOPOLY: Ipswich Edition under licence from Hasbro.
The bigger picture: This marks MONOPOLY's 90th anniversary celebrations, with the iconic game boasting over one billion players across 114 countries. The new Ipswich edition will feature more than 30 leading landmarks from the town, replacing classic locations like Mayfair and Park Lane from the original board.
Winning Moves UK has produced official MONOPOLY versions for locations worldwide over the past 25 years, from Palm Springs to Dubai. This is Ipswich's second appearance on a MONOPOLY board, 19 years after the town first 'Passed GO'.
What's on the board: So far, only Suffolk Mind has been announced as appearing on a Community Chest square. "The remainder of the board we are keeping under our MONOPOLY hats," added Mr Ladd Gibbon. "All will be revealed when the game is launched."
How to enter: Entries are open from today until 23:59 on Tuesday, 30 September 2025 and should be sent to vip@6starpr.co.uk
What's next: The new MONOPOLY: Ipswich Edition is scheduled to be in shops by November, in time for Christmas 2025.
The bottom line: Ipswich residents have until the end of September to showcase their town pride and potentially win a piece of board game history signed by the iconic Mr. Monopoly himself.
