# Eight e-bikes and e-scooters seized in police crackdown

**Why it matters:** Ipswich's Town Centre Team say they are continuing to target non-compliant e-bikes and e-scooters as part of their regular patrols.

**The details:** Officers have been conducting their usual stops of e-bikes and e-scooters in the town centre.

- Private e-scooters cannot be ridden on public roads, cycle lanes or pavements.
- E-bikes must have pedals, a motor no more than 250W, and motor assistance that cuts out at 15.5mph.
- Riding a non-compliant e-bike or a private e-scooter in public could lead to enforcement action, including fines and seizure of the vehicle.
