The charity says it could not do its work without them. **The details:** The thank you day gave Suffolk-based volunteers the chance to meet staff and trustees, find out more about the charity's work and hear from a mum whose son receives care from EACH. - After being welcomed and thanked by chief executive Kevin Clements, volunteers heard about EACH's new five-year care strategy and were given retail, fundraising and financial updates. - Volunteers also had the chance to take part in a special art therapy activity using balls of wool and coloured beads, while a raffle and tombola also proved popular. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/29/1e/291e4b7f-e551-4458-b546-61963954b22f/content/images/2026/10/IMG_2588.jpg) ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/29/1e/291e4b7f-e551-4458-b546-61963954b22f/content/images/2026/10/IMG_2524.jpg) ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/29/1e/291e4b7f-e551-4458-b546-61963954b22f/content/images/2026/10/IMG_2531.jpg) ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/29/1e/291e4b7f-e551-4458-b546-61963954b22f/content/images/2026/10/IMG_2412.jpg) ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/29/1e/291e4b7f-e551-4458-b546-61963954b22f/content/images/2026/10/IMG_2532.jpg) ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/29/1e/291e4b7f-e551-4458-b546-61963954b22f/content/images/2026/10/IMG_2515.jpg) EACH volunteer thank you day at Portman Road (Photo: Karen Self/EACH) **What they're saying:** Volunteer services partner Scarlett Farnell, who helped organise the day, said: "It was lovely to come together and celebrate the amazing contribution our volunteers make across EACH. "There was such enthusiasm in the room. Everyone engaged and got in the spirit of the day, which made it feel incredibly special. "I hope our wonderful volunteers enjoyed themselves and felt appreciated, having been given the recognition they so richly deserve." She added: "They support just about every area of the organisation, and their dedication, generosity and willingness to give their time makes a real difference to the children, young people and families receiving our care and support. "We simply couldn't do what we do without them, and this event was a way of celebrating the difference they make every single day." **The bigger picture:** The Ipswich event followed a similar thank you day at Norwich City Football Club, as well as a smaller gathering in Cambridge. One more event, for EACH's Essex-based volunteers, will take place in Colchester later this month. **The bottom line:** From care teams to charity shops, EACH relies on its volunteers, and its Ipswich thank you day was a chance to celebrate them before the final event in Colchester. --- **Don't forget:** If you enjoy our content, please [add Ipswich.co.uk as a "preferred source" on Google](https://google.com/preferences/source?q=ipswich.co.uk&ref=ipswich.co.uk) so you can easily find more of the content you value.
