**Why it matters:** The incident occurred on a busy waterfront route where people regularly walk to and from work throughout the day.

**The details:** The brick fell from the building during ongoing remedial works on Regatta Quay.

- Rubbish can be heard constantly going down a chute at the site, as well as hitting the side netting that is supposed to prevent debris and rubble from falling below.
- No one was hurt in the incident, but the brick narrowly missed one pedestrian, according to witnesses.
- Workers at the site have since removed the fallen brick and debris from the pedestrianised street.
- It is not known which contractor is carrying out the remedial works.
