**Why it matters:** East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) hosted its first-ever Treehouse Hoedown on Friday, bringing together 45 people from 13 families for an evening designed to let children and families "come together, have fun and create lasting memories."

**The details:** Guests arrived through saloon-style doors into a Wild West wonderland complete with straw bales, cowboy hats and country-inspired decorations.

- The evening was led by Music Therapist Ray Travasso, who guided guests through a creative musical journey filled with sound, rhythm and imagination.
- Guests sang along to country classics and enjoyed a special tribute to Dolly Parton.
- Families also enjoyed live music from a band featuring guest performers, including EACH Chief Executive Kevin Clements.
- EACH staff, volunteers and guests all "saddled up" to help create the evening.

**What they're saying:** Kelly Evans, EACH's Groups and Events Co-ordinator at The Treehouse, said: "Our first Treehouse Hoedown was a real hit.

"The atmosphere was fantastic from start to finish, with everyone embracing the theme and enjoying an evening of music, creativity and togetherness.

"There were plenty of smiles, lots of dancing and some wonderfully brave performances from the children. They well and truly stole the show.

"It was wonderful to see families relaxing, having fun and making memories together, and we're incredibly grateful to all the staff, volunteers and special guests who helped make the evening such a success."

**The bigger picture:** The Treehouse currently supports around 200 children, young people and family members in Ipswich and the surrounding area, out of more than 730 across the East Anglia region. EACH operates three hospices – The Treehouse in Ipswich, Milton in Cambridge and The Nook in Norwich – alongside care provided in family homes, hospitals and the wider community.

**The bottom line:** The hoedown gave families at The Treehouse a rare chance to let their hair down together, with EACH saying it hopes the evening's success will pave the way for similar events in future.
