Bramford Road to reopen on 28 February after link road works
Suffolk Highways has confirmed Bramford Road will reopen on 28 February as part of the ongoing Europa Way Link Road project.
Why it matters: The reopening will restore a key route for local traffic after its closure in late January, while the new link road remains on track for completion in March.
The big picture: The Europa Way Link Road project will create a new connection between Europa Way and Bramford Road, improving traffic flow in the area.

By the numbers: Around 2,200 tonnes of asphalt will be laid during the surfacing phase of the new link road.
The details: Since the start of 2024, Suffolk Highways has completed several key elements:
- A new footway on the northern side of Bramford Road
- Drainage improvements
- Kerbing installation
- Streetlighting upgrades
Following Bramford Road's closure in late January, workers have:
- Realigned the carriageway
- Constructed a new mini roundabout
- Installed a new drainage system and connections
- Reconstructed existing carriageway foundations
- Installed new traffic islands

What's next: Surfacing of the new link road and connecting sections of Bramford Road will begin shortly. After the road reopens, crews will complete finishing touches including:
- Landscaping
- White lining
- Fencing
The bottom line: Suffolk Highways thanked the local community for their "continued patience during these essential infrastructure improvement works" while confirming the new link road remains on schedule for a March opening.
