Body recovered from River Deben at Waldringfield

Police are working to identify a man whose body was found in the River Deben yesterday morning after being recovered by the Coastguard.

The details: The Coastguard contacted police at 07:45 yesterday morning (Sunday, 17 August) and brought the body ashore at Waldringfield at 08:45. Ambulance Service crew officially confirmed the death.

The man is described as white, around 35 years of age, with fair hair and a beard. He was wearing black shorts when found in the river.

What's next: The body has been taken to the mortuary at Ipswich Hospital. The cause of death remains unknown but police say it is not believed to be suspicious at this stage.
