Why it matters: The annual service provides an opportunity for the community to come together and pay their respects to those who have served the country or been affected by conflict.
The details: Organised by the Royal British Legion and Ipswich Borough Council, the service at the Cenotaph in Christchurch Park will start at 10:50 and will be attended by veterans, civic leaders, members of the armed forces, cadets and other organisations.
Military representatives and youth organisations will march through the centre of Ipswich to the service, starting from Elm Street at approximately 10:15. The route is: Elm Street, Museum Street, Westgate Street, Tavern Street, Northgate Street, crossing A1156 Crown Street into Soane Street.
Members of the public are welcome to watch the parade but are asked to ensure they leave sufficient space for the parade and to follow directions from police and security staff.
Following the service, Councillor Stefan Long, Mayor of Ipswich, and Lady Clare Euston, Lord Lieutenant of Suffolk, will take the salute at the March Past.
Road closures: Rolling road closures for up to 10 minutes will be in place for the march to and from Christchurch Park between 10:00-10:45 and 12:30-13:15, affecting the following locations:

Parking: Portman Road Car Park B will be closed on Sunday, 9 November, as this car park is used for Remembrance Day service organisers. Alternative car parks (A, C and D) on Portman Road remain available.
Armistice Day: On Tuesday, 11 November at 10:50, veterans and children from local schools will come together at the Fields of Honour in the Old Cemetery and at the Cenotaph in Christchurch Park for services of remembrance. The sounding of maroons will mark the start and end of a two-minute silence at 11:00.
No road closures will be in place for events on 11 November.
What they're saying: Councillor Stefan Long, Mayor of Ipswich, said: "At this time of year, we pay our respects to all those who have served our country or have been affected by conflict. We hope Ipswich residents will join us by attending these Remembrance Day events, and observing the two-minute silence."
"We come together to remember those who gave their lives to protect our democracy and freedoms. It is important that we as a community continue to reflect on these sacrifices by ordinary people, made on our behalf. It is also important that we thank those serving today, and offer our support to those members of the armed forces and veterans by buying a Poppy and supporting the Royal British Legion."
For context: The annual Poppy Appeal was launched in Ipswich on Saturday, 25 October, by the Mayor outside Ipswich Town Hall. Find out more about the Appeal and donate online at: www.britishlegion.org.uk/get-involved/poppy-appeal
The bottom line: Ipswich residents have multiple opportunities to pay their respects this November, with services taking place on both Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day.
