Rare extended cut of 'Halloween' showing at King Street Cinema on 31 October

King Street Cinema will screen a rare extended version of John Carpenter's 1978 horror classic 'Halloween' on Friday, 31 October, featuring around 14 minutes of previously unseen footage rarely shown on the big screen.

Why it matters: The extended cut was re-edited for a longer TV broadcast and includes new scenes that most fans will never have seen before, offering a unique opportunity for classic horror enthusiasts.

The details: Horror fans are invited to arrive at the cinema's on-site bar from 6pm to enjoy the spooky atmosphere, Halloween-inspired cocktails and live music from local singer-songwriter Phil Jackson before the film begins at 7:30pm.

What they're saying: Dan Champion, managing director of King Street Cinema, said: "This rare, extended cut of Halloween is actually the version that was re-edited for a longer TV broadcast, and is very rarely shown on the big screen. It includes new scenes that fans will likely never have seen before, so it really is a unique opportunity, especially for any classic horror fans out there."

For context: The special Halloween screening is sponsored by Humber Doucy Brewing Company and forms part of King Street Cinema's '50 Years in the Making' initiative, which honours half a century of independent cinema in Ipswich.

The bottom line: Standard tickets cost £9.50, or £8.50 for King Street Cinema members, and fancy dress is encouraged. Visit kingstreetcinema.co.uk for more details.
