Police appeal for witnesses after Ipswich park sexual assault allegation

Suffolk Police are seeking witnesses to an alleged sexual assault at Stonelodge Park on Wednesday afternoon, with a man in his 30s arrested and released on bail.

The details: The alleged assault occurred between 12:45 and 13:45 on Wednesday, 23 July. A woman aged in her 20s and a man aged in his 30s met near the Royston Drive entrance to the park before walking towards the duck pond area.

The woman subsequently reported the sexual assault allegation to police, who have arrested a man in his 30s in connection with the incident. He has been released on bail until Thursday, 23 October, pending further enquiries.

What police want: Officers are appealing for anyone walking in Stonelodge Park during the timeframe who may have seen the male and female together, or heard anything suspicious, to come forward.

The victim is being supported by specialist officers.
