Why it matters: The new intake demonstrates the firms' continued growth and investment in legal training within Ipswich, providing opportunities for aspiring solicitors to develop their careers at one of the region's most established law firms.

The details: This year's cohort includes 26 new faces and three internal candidates who are continuing their legal journey with the firm. The six trainees joining the Ipswich office are Phoebe Ault, Lucy Bullen-Bell, Henry Giess, George Mannell, Charlie Peters, and Kellen Webber.

Each trainee will gain hands-on experience across Birketts' business, supported by the firm's multi-disciplinary approach and commitment to professional development over a two-year period.

The bigger picture: Birketts operates across seven offices in Ipswich, Bristol, Cambridge, Chelmsford, London, Norwich, and Sevenoaks, making it one of the region's largest legal practices. The firm's training programme provides structured career development for new solicitors entering the profession.

What they're saying: Sonya O'Reilly, Partner, Head of Independent Schools and Birketts' Training Principal, said: "Birketts remains fully committed to nurturing future legal talent through our comprehensive training programme, and we're thrilled to welcome such a talented and diverse group of trainees. We look forward to supporting them over the next two years as they develop their skills and contribute to the continued success of the firm."

The bottom line: The new trainee intake strengthens Birketts' presence in Ipswich while offering promising legal careers to six new professionals who will help shape the future of legal services in the town.
