The big picture: KWMCC is a charity that provides:

  • Sporting activities for all ages

  • Community events and programmes

  • Social spaces for local residents

  • Conference facilities for hire

What they're saying: "We are incredibly honoured to be named the Local Charity of the Year," said Richard Baird, chair of the trustees. "This is a wonderful recognition for the hard work, dedication and commitment of the entire team."

General Manager Stuart Lawson added: "I am so proud of the staff, trustees and volunteers that help support the community in such a varied range of events, programmes and activities."

What's next: The centre plans to build on this achievement with new programmes and initiatives in the coming year.

The bottom line: The award, sponsored by Access Community Trust, recognises KWMCC's commitment to creating an inclusive environment for residents of all ages in Kesgrave and surrounding areas.
