Why it matters: The free event offers couples the opportunity to explore the historic wedding venue while meeting local suppliers, from florists to caterers.

The details: The fayre will run from 11:00-15:00 and feature businesses including Suffolk Registrars, Gainsborough Quartet, Wallflower Florists, S&R Wedding Stylist and The Food Station. Couples can also tour the historic mansion and its setting in Christchurch Park. No booking is required.

A bridal dress show will be held the same evening from 18:00-20:00. Tickets cost £20 and include a welcome drink, canapés and a goody bag.

What they're saying: Councillor Carole Jones, portfolio holder for planning and museums, said: "This is the second time we've held a wedding fayre at our historic Tudor mansion, which couples can also look around on the day. It will be great to welcome lots of local businesses to our venue, which sits in the heart of the beautiful Christchurch Park, and inspire our couples to make their day as special as possible. I can't imagine a more beautiful venue for a wedding!"

For context: This will be the second wedding fayre of 2026, following an event at Ipswich Town Hall on Sunday, 12 April.

The bottom line: Christchurch Mansion is opening its doors to engaged couples and their families, offering a chance to plan their special day in one of Ipswich's most historic settings.

More information about both events can be found on the council's website.
