Ipswich IT firm rebrands after 27 years in business, eyes growth

Local IT provider Ipswich Computer Services, now ICS, has marked its 27th anniversary with a new brand, launched in front of 70 customers and suppliers at Ipswich Sports Club.

The big picture: Founded in 1998 – the same year Apple launched its revolutionary iMac – ICS has witnessed and adapted to dramatic changes in technology.

Starting out in a small office in Westerfield, the company expanded to larger premises in Henley, where it now employs 12 staff members and has evolved from fixing physical hardware to managing cloud systems and cybersecurity.

What's changing: In front of an audience of 70 clients and suppliers at Ipswich Sports Club, the company unveiled its new brand identity.

  • The company will now be formally known simply as ICS, having been called it informally for some time

  • A new logo features three dots representing core services: support, hardware supply, and service

  • New services include support for start-ups and website development

What they're saying: "For nearly three decades, ICS has been synonymous with reliability, expertise, and exceptional service. Our decision to refresh the brand is about honouring that legacy while positioning ourselves for the next chapter," said Tim Goulding, Founding Director.

"Our refreshed identity reflects not only where we come from but also where we're headed. We're expanding our services, including working with start-ups and offering website development, while continuing to deliver the outstanding support our clients have come to expect, that won't falter and remains our top priority," said recently appointed Director Craig Starling.

Behind the scenes: Unlike many IT providers, ICS maintains a personal approach:

  • No automated ticket systems

  • Dedicated engineer-account managers for each client

  • Face-to-face support

The bottom line: While technology has transformed beyond recognition since ICS opened its doors, its focus on personal service remains unchanged as it positions itself for future growth.
