Ipswich Buses named third best in UK for customer satisfaction

The local operator scored 92% in a national survey on customer satisfaction with bus services, placing it among the top performers from 61 major UK bus companies.

Why it matters: The rating comes after Ipswich Buses improved its customer satisfaction score by 7% compared to last year's results, now sitting 10% above the national average.

The details: The recognition comes from Transport Focus's 'Your Bus Journey' survey, which measures passenger experiences across the UK. The study gathered feedback from more than 48,000 bus journeys, with passengers commenting on various aspects including waiting times, onboard experience, driver interaction and overall timeliness.

Survey responses correspond to individual journeys, with passengers invited to participate during their travel, ensuring feedback is specific and based on recent experiences.

What they're saying: Dan Bassett, Managing Director at Ipswich Buses, says: "We're very pleased to have received such positive recognition from our customers. We continue to work hard to provide an excellent service for bus users and we're really pleased to have improved on our score from last year and feature so highly on the list."

Behind the success: Bassett credits the company's employees for the achievement: "Our positive score is a testament to Ipswich Buses' employees, and I would like to personally thank them for their continued commitment which has hugely contributed to the company's success."

The bigger picture: The survey results not only inform government and local transport authority decisions but also provide valuable insights for bus operators about their strengths and potential areas for improvement.

The bottom line: Ipswich Buses' third-place ranking demonstrates significant progress in customer service quality, reinforcing its position as one of the UK's leading public transport providers.
