The community has rallied together to support the family of Chris Caesar, with over 146 people donating to help his partner and daughters while search efforts continue. The fundraiser has now reached more than three-quarters of its £8,000 target.
Why it matters: Chris is a father of two young daughters and has been missing since Wednesday 8 January. His van was discovered in Felixstowe one day after he was reported missing.
The big picture: Search teams, including police, coast guard, and volunteers, have been combing areas near Felixstowe Ferry. The National Police Air Service helicopter joined the search yesterday.

Safety warning: Suffolk Police has issued a warning to people not to put themselves at risk while trying to help with searches, as it remains unclear whether Mr Caesar entered the water.
What they're saying: "Chris is a much-loved father, partner, son, brother, and uncle, as well as a close friend to many people. His two young daughters are the centre of his world, and this devastating situation has left everyone who cares about him heartbroken," said Helen Davitt, who set up the fundraising page.
By the numbers: At the time of writing:
£6,040 raised so far
Over 146 donations received
76% of £8,000 target reached
How to help: Anyone with information about Mr Caesar's whereabouts should contact Suffolk Police, quoting CAD 65 of Wednesday 8 January.
The bottom line: While professional search teams continue their efforts, the fundraiser aims to provide immediate support for Chris's family, helping with essential costs so his partner can focus on the search and caring for their daughters. You can make a donation here.
