The details: Two new cameras at the A12 junction and pedestrian crossing at the Brightwell Lakes development dominated the county's speed enforcement statistics, recording 842 offences – nearly half of all fixed camera violations in Suffolk.
The Brightwell Lakes cameras alone accounted for more offences than the entire county recorded in the previous financial year, when just 575 violations were detected across all fixed sites.
Established camera locations also saw increases, with the A12 at Benhall recording an additional 211 offences and the A140 at Codenham rising by 139.

The bigger picture: Suffolk Police saw increases across all speed enforcement measures. Community Enforcement Officer reports rose by 82 per cent, from 18,427 to 33,623, driven by enforcement being carried out in urban areas.
The data was revealed in a road safety report during a Police and Crime Commissioner accountability and performance panel meeting last month.
