Former DPL Group HQ transformed into collaborative wellness hub

Ipswich electrical contractor DPL Group's former headquarters at Greenwich Business Park has been transformed into a shared workspace for growing wellness businesses, following its move to larger premises.

Why it matters: The move provides workspace for emerging businesses in the wellness sector, with the electrical contractor's founders using their old building to help other companies establish and grow.

The details: The building now houses two wellness businesses – YU Integrative Health, which specialises in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and The Holistic Wellness Training Centre, which includes Shine by ES Consulting and PPB.

A grand opening was held at the weekend, attended by WBO heavyweight champion Fabio Wardley, ex-Premier League footballer Ruel Fox, Ipswich MP Jack Abbott and UN Judge Peter Herbert.

For context: The creation of the business hub has been led by DPL's company chairs Fran and Gary Dinsdale as the electrical contractor celebrates its 25th anniversary.

Rebecca Chung, from YU Integrative Health, said Fran had supported her from the start of her career and was her first paying client when she launched the business.

"I used to take my mobile massage bed to her home when I was pregnant with my son," she said. "Fran has been there with me on my journey from the start – from when I was working mobile, to working from a spare bedroom in my home, to opening my first clinic and now moving into this exciting new space."

"To be given the chance by Fran and Gary to use this space as a clinic was an opportunity I just could not miss out on. I now have a room with two beds and plenty of parking, meaning people can do sessions together or multi-bed acupuncture, making it affordable for everyone. This is particularly useful for clients going through fertility treatment and IVF, as they can be there together for the therapy and treatment."

What they're saying: "Our former headquarters at Greenwich Business Park are where a big part of our journey took place," said Fran. "After 25 years and a lot of growth, we were fortunate to be able to move into a larger space. It felt right that our former office could now help other businesses focus on building their own futures."

"We hope this new business hub will act as an incubator for up-and-coming businesses, giving them a place to establish and grow," she added.

The Holistic Wellness Training Centre was founded by Darnte Wilson and Ellisha Soanes, bringing together fitness, mental health, education, mentoring and creative media.

"This space exists to create opportunity," said Ellisha. "It's about supporting people at every stage of their journey – physically, mentally and professionally."

By the numbers: DPL Group, which employs around 100 people, increased its turnover from £16.6m to £20.6m in the year to 30 April 2024, according to accounts filed at Companies House. The company moved its registered office from Greenwich Business Park to Bluestem Road in May 2025.

The bottom line: After outgrowing their original headquarters, DPL's founders have turned their former base into a launchpad for other businesses starting their own growth journey.
