# A14 to close for two months near Ipswich for resurfacing work

**The big picture:** The closure will affect both directions of the A14 between junction 52 (Claydon) and junction 55 (Copdock Interchange) from 27 August to mid-October.

However, the carriageways will not be closed simultaneously.

**Key details:**

- Closures will be in place from 8pm to 6am, weather permitting
- The official diversion route is approximately 10 miles long
- Traffic will be redirected through Sproughton village

**Diversion route:**

- Eastbound: Exit at junction 52, travel along B1113 through Bramford and Sproughton, then A1071 and A1214 to rejoin A14 at Copdock Interchange
- Westbound: Follow the same route in reverse
